Team Formation

Team formation involves setting the number teams you will have in each division and then populating those teams with players and coaches.  Players and coaches will be selected from a pool of eligible participants who are registered for a specific division.

Setting the Number of Teams

  1. Click the Admin link in the sidebar menu
  2. Click on the name of the program you want to manage
  3. Click the Divisions tab
  4. Select the division you want to manage
  5. Click the Edit button
  6. Select the number of American and National teams you will be fielding
  7. Click the Save button

Note:  The platform uses a naming convention for all basketball and volleyball team names to indicate gender, grade, level (American/National), team number, and head coach.  For example:

  • B4A1 - Smith = Boys 4th Grade American Team 1 - Smith (head coach)
  • G4N2 - Jones = Girls 4th Grade National Team 2 - Jones (head coach)

Assigning Coaches and Players to Teams

Each division has a pool of coaches and players who can be added to a team.  This pool consists of unassigned registered coaches players for that division.

To assign coaches:

  1. Click on the division name in the sidebar menu
  2. Click the Teams tab
  3. Click on the name of the team you want to manage
  4. Click the Staff tab
  5. Click the Edit button
  6. Select from the pool of coaches
  7. Click the Save button

Note:  If the coach you added signed up to be a head coach, you will see their name appended to team name for easy reference.

To assign players:

  1. Click the Roster tab
  2. Click the Edit button
  3. Select from the pool of players
  4. Click the Save button
